The Access Problem

Most Websites Depend on One Person. That Is the Risk.

Your website may stay online for a while after something changes. The real problem usually appears later — when the domain renewal fails, hosting billing stops, admin access is missing, email accounts are unknown, or no authorized person knows what to do next.

!

The website is not just a website. It is an asset with keys, bills, renewals, logins, vendors, and public trust attached to it.

If the owner, pastor, director, or account holder becomes unavailable, the organization may not know who controls the domain, where the website is hosted, how billing works, who has admin access, or how to keep the site online.

Domain renewals can fail quietly.
Hosting accounts may be tied to one person’s card or email.
Website admin access can become unclear during transition.
Backups, vendors, email, and DNS may be undocumented.

Continuity Risk
If no one knows where access lives, every renewal and recovery step becomes harder than it should be.
The SAW Continuity Approach

Create clarity before access becomes unclear.

The plan gives your organization a documented path for ownership, access, renewals, backups, authorized contacts, and next steps — so the website is easier to protect during transition.

Map the Digital Assets

Document the domain, hosting, website admin access, DNS, email, payment renewals, backups, vendors, and important account locations before they become difficult to find.

Name Authorized Contacts

Identify who should be contacted, who can make website decisions, and who should receive continuity instructions if the main account holder is unavailable.

3

Audit the Website Risk

Review the weak points that could interrupt your online presence: missing access, unknown renewals, weak backups, unclear ownership, and undocumented recovery steps.

Your website should not depend on one person’s memory, inbox, password manager, or credit card. The next section helps you choose the plan that matches the amount of continuity protection your organization needs.

Request Legacy Plan
Most organizations should start with the Digital Succession Plan. The audit shows the risk. The succession plan gives trusted people a documented action path when access, billing, renewals, or website decisions become time-sensitive.

Legacy + Continuity Protection

Preserve the Work, the Story, and the Digital Foundation.

The higher-value plan is not only about website access. It helps protect reputation, public communication, ministry history, founder legacy, client trust, organizational memory, and the online foundation people may depend on during transition.

Legacy Website Option

Preserve the story without letting the website go silent.

A legacy conversion can help organizations continue public communication with dignity, clarity, and care.

Continuity is not only technical. It is operational, relational, and public-facing.

When a website represents a company, church, nonprofit, founder, pastor, or public-facing leader, the transition is not just about logins. People need clear messaging, stable access, reliable renewals, preserved content, and a calm path forward.

What This Helps Protect
1 Keep the website online during transition.
2 Give successors a clear action path.
3 Avoid domain, hosting, billing, and email confusion.
4 Convert the site respectfully if needed.
5 Preserve content, photos, videos, history, and public messaging.
The best time to document access is before the organization needs it. Review the common questions next, or move directly to the checkout area if you already know which continuity plan fits.

Questions Before Checkout

Clear Answers Before You Choose a Website Continuity Plan.

These answers are designed to remove confusion before checkout and help you understand what SAW handles, what your organization should review internally, how coverage eligibility works, and how the process begins.

Is this legal advice?
No. SAW provides the technical continuity plan. Your attorney should review legal authority, estate language, ownership instructions, beneficiary rights, business succession language, and any formal transfer or estate documents.
Who is this for?
This is for business owners, churches, nonprofits, family businesses, founders, solo operators, pastors, directors, and organizations where one person controls critical digital accounts.
Will SAW store my passwords?
SAW does not need to store raw passwords. We document access paths, ownership, authorized contacts, recovery procedures, and approved secure-system instructions so the organization knows how to respond.
Can this be added to maintenance?
Yes. This can be added to a SAW maintenance plan or purchased as a continuity policy-style project. Organizations with active maintenance may benefit from having continuity documentation reviewed periodically.
What happens after checkout?
SAW begins with an intake form, asset review, access audit, risk report, and continuity documentation process. The exact steps depend on the package selected.
Why should this be handled before something happens?
Because website access becomes harder to recover when the main account holder is unavailable. Planning early helps avoid rushed decisions, unclear ownership, missed renewals, broken communication, and unnecessary downtime.
When does my continuity protection qualify?
To qualify for continuity benefits tied to a passing or qualifying incapacity event, the selected plan must be paid for 12 consecutive months without lapse. This works similar to an insurance-style eligibility period: the plan must remain current for the full 12-month term before those benefits are active.
What happens if I miss a monthly payment?
A missed or lapsed payment breaks the 12-consecutive-month eligibility period. If that happens, the current policy-style plan must be personally canceled by the client, and the client must request a new payment link to begin a new 12-month consecutive payment period. Eligibility begins again only after the new plan has been paid for 12 consecutive months without lapse.
What does Tier 1 protect?
Tier 1 is designed to help the website remain online for as long as Standard American Web remains open and able to provide the service, assuming the plan is active and qualified. Tier 1 does not transfer website property, website files, administrative access, hosting control, or ownership rights to surviving relatives or successors.
What do Tier 2 and Tier 3 provide that Tier 1 does not?
Tier 2 and Tier 3 are designed to provide documented access and continuity instructions for approved surviving relatives, successors, or authorized representatives, subject to the client’s instructions and any required legal or authorization review. These tiers are built for handoff clarity, not just continued website availability.
How does Tier 3 protect the family if SAW is no longer operating?
Tier 3 is designed to reduce long-term dependency on Standard American Web by preparing the full website property, files, documentation, and handoff path for approved surviving family members or authorized successors. If hosting with another provider becomes necessary and migration is needed, SAW will assist with migration while SAW is still operating and able to provide that support.
Does SAW guarantee it will remain in business forever?
No company can responsibly guarantee that it will remain in business forever. SAW’s continuity plans are designed to document access, reduce confusion, support handoff steps, and help protect the website asset while SAW is operating and able to provide service. Tier 3 is the strongest option because it is designed to prepare the website property and transfer path so approved successors are less dependent on SAW long-term.
i

This is a technical continuity service, not an estate plan or legal guarantee.

SAW helps document the website, access paths, digital assets, vendor locations, backups, eligibility requirements, and continuity steps. Legal authority, ownership transfer language, estate instructions, and liability terms should still be reviewed by the organization’s attorney or authorized advisor.

Before Checkout, Know This
Eligibility requires 12 consecutive monthly payments without lapse.
Tier 1 helps preserve website availability but does not transfer website property access to surviving relatives.
Tier 2 and Tier 3 are designed for approved successor access and clearer handoff instructions.
Tier 3 provides the strongest handoff path because it is designed to prepare the website property for transfer and possible migration.
